Cohesion regions

The purpose of regional aid is to promote coherent regional development by fostering the development of less developed regions and areas in relation to neighbouring areas.

 

The legal basis for the promotion of coherent regional development in Slovenia is the Act on the Promotion of Coherent Regional Development.

 

Slovenia is divided into two cohesion regions, Eastern Slovenia and Western Slovenia, and further into 12 statistical (development) regions.
